Privacy & POPIA

Prosec CITR collects personal information only to do its work: responding to enquiries, arranging security assessments, providing contracted security services, and, only where you have separately opted in, sending security tips and alerts.

The enquiry form on this site asks for your name, suburb, contact number and the service you're interested in. We use those details to contact you about your enquiry. The marketing opt-in on the form is separate and unticked by default; submitting an enquiry never signs you up for marketing.

When you submit a form, the details are emailed to Prosec CITR's own inbox by Resend, an email delivery service, and they are held on that service's servers outside South Africa while the message is in transit. That is the only third party your submission passes through, and it is not used to build any profile of you. If you would rather not send anything through this website at all, phone the control room on 061 413 9130 instead — it answers 24/7 and nothing is recorded here.

The home security self-check

If you complete the self-check at /check and then book an assessment, more than your contact details travel with the booking, and you should know exactly what: your score out of 18, the score band it falls in, and the list of checks you did not tick — which is, in plain terms, a short inventory of the weakest points at your property. Also the time window you picked for the visit, the equipment you asked to be quoted on, and anything you typed into the notes box.

That list is the entire point of the exercise: an officer who already knows the gate motor has no anti-lift bracket walks to the gate first instead of asking you twenty questions on the doorstep. It also means the record is sensitive. It is used to prepare and carry out your assessment and nothing else. It is not used for marketing, not sold, and not shared outside Prosec CITR and the officer attending. Please do not put alarm codes, gate codes or your full street address in the notes box — the officer takes those at the door, and they should not sit in a form submission.

If you complete the self-check and do not book, nothing is sent to us at all. Your answers stay in your own browser for that visit and are gone when you close the tab. Printing the fix list keeps a copy on paper only.

Two other things are recorded with a booking. First, where the click came from — campaign, ad and keyword identifiers passed in the link by Google or Meta. We use them to tell which advert produced a real booking and stop paying for the ones that do not; they identify the advert, not you. Second, if you choose the WhatsApp option instead of the form, the message opens with your score and top three gaps already written in, and it travels through WhatsApp's own service, outside South Africa, under Meta's terms rather than ours. The form keeps everything local. Use whichever you prefer, but that is the difference.

Assessment records are kept while we are quoting you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to the quote, then deleted. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Any marketing message we send includes a way to stop further messages, and opt-outs are honoured immediately.

CCTV monitoring at protected premises is operated under contract with the property owner concerned and used for security purposes only.
